Vision
New Moon Overlook frames the northern rim of the 12,800-acre Galisteo Basin Preserve—a nationally significant conservation initiative spearheaded by Commonweal Conservancy. New Moon Overlook offers community members an opportunity to live in a carefully tended open space Preserve in an environmentally respectful manner. Each home site has been designed with extraordinary sensitivity to the scenic, wildlife habitat, cultural, and recreational values of the region. In addition, each home site offers a high degree of privacy and seclusion for residents and their guests. Residents will have immediate access to an extensive network of private and public trails for hiking, biking, and equestrian use. Home sites range in size from 13 to 44 acres. They are distinguished by their spectacular views to surrounding mountains and the open plains and red rock mesas of the southern Galisteo Basin. New Moon Overlook offers residents easy access to the amenities of Santa Fe, via State Highway 285. The Galisteo Basin is a region of fragility and ecological significance. It is internationally celebrated for its incomparable scenic, cultural, and wildlife habitat resources. Sales of the New Moon Overlook home sites—together with home sites in the Galisteo Basin Preserve's Southern Crescent, West Basin, and the proposed Village—will underwrite permanent protection of more than 12,000 acres of the Preserve as publicly accessible open space. In addition, these property sales will support habitat restoration within the Preserve's primary watershed and grassland areas. Designed and planned in accordance with the highest standards of conservation development, New Moon Overlook is designed to limit the impact of new construction on the cultural and natural resources of the area. Through a carefully defined set of covenants and restrictions, homes will be built in a manner that exemplifies the energy efficiency and water conservation values of "green development." |
